Ar-Rahman (55:24)

وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِ ٢٤

To Him belong the ships with raised sails, sailing through the seas like mountains.

And His are the sailing ships raised up in the sea like mountains.

And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains.

His are the moving ships that float, high as mountains, on the sea.

And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains.

His are the ships,1 towering on the sea like mountains.

[1]His are the ships: Ships became possible only by His power. It is He Who blessed man with the capability and skill that he may build ships for crossing the oceans. It is He Who created on the earth the material from which ships could be built, and it is He Who subjected water to the laws by which it became possible for the mountain-like ships to sail on the surface of the surging oceans.

His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners.

اور یہ جہاز اسی کے ہیں جو سمندر میں پہاڑوں کی طرح اونچے اٹھے ہوئے ہیں ،

اور یہ جہاز اُسی کے ہیں 1 جو سمندر میں پہاڑوں کی طرح اونچے اُٹھے ہوئے ہیں

[1]یعنی اس کی قدرت سے بنے ہیں۔ اسی نے انسان کو یہ صلاحیت بخشی کہ سمندروں کو پار کرنے کے لیے جہاز بنائے۔ اسی نے زمین پر وہ سامان پیدا کیا جس سے جہاز بن سکتے ہیں۔اور اسی نے پانی کو ان قواعد کا پابند گیا جن کی بدولت غضبناک سمندروں کے سینے پر پہاڑ جیسے جہازوں کا چلنا ممکن ہوا۔

اور جہاز بھی اسی کے ہیں جو دریا میں پہاڑوں کی طرح اونچے کھڑے ہوتے ہیں

اور اللہ ہی کی (ملکیت میں) ہیں وه جہاز جو سمندروں میں پہاڑ کی طرح بلند (چل پھر رہے) ہیں.[1]

[1]الْجَوَارِ، جَارِيَةٌ (چلنے والی) کی جمع اور محذوف موصوف (السُّفُنُ) کی صفت ہے۔ مُنْشَآتٌ کے معنی مرفوعات ہیں، یعنی بلند کی ہوئیں، مراد بادبان ہیں،جو بادبانی کشتیوں میں جھنڈوں کی طرح اونچے اور بلند بنائے جاتے ہیں۔ بعض نے اس کے معنی مصنوعات کے کیے ہیں یعنی اللہ کی بنائی ہوئی جو سمندر میں چلتی ہیں۔

اور اسی کے ہیں یہ جہاز جو سمندر میں پہاڑوں کی مانند اونچے اٹھے ہوئے ہیں۔

اور اُسی کے ہیں جہاز اونچے کھڑے دریا میں جیسے پہاڑ [1]

[1]یعنی کشتیاں اور جہاز گو بظاہر تمہارے بنائے ہوئے ہیں مگر خود تم کو اللہ نے بنایا اسی نے وہ قوتیں اور سامان عطا کئے جن سے جہاز تیار کرتے ہو۔ لہٰذا تم اور تمہاری مصنوعات سب کا مالک و خالق وہ ہی خدا ہوا۔ اور یہ سب اسی کی نعمتیں اور قدرت کی نشانیاں ہوئیں۔ (تنبیہ) یہ جملہ پہلے جملہ یَخۡرُجُ مِنۡہُمَا اللُّؤۡلُؤُ الخ۔ کے مقابل ہے، یعنی دریا کے نیچے سے وہ نعمتیں نکلتی ہیں اور اوپر یہ نعمتیں موجود ہیں۔

Aur yeh jahaaz (ships) usi ke hain jo samandar mein pahadon (mountains) ki tarah unchey uthey huey hain
